Capsulorhexis

• Capsulorhexis represents one of the most technically demanding aspects of cataract surgery — creating a precise, circular opening in the anterior capsule. This application allows users to simulate this maneuver by tearing the membrane with their finger to produce a well-centered, round opening necessary for subsequent surgical steps.
• The primary objective is to prevent radial tearing while maintaining a smooth, round tear path to mimic real surgical conditions.

Phacoemulsification of the Lens

• This component simulates the critical phase of ultrasonic lens emulsification. Users control a virtual ultrasound probe via finger movements to fragment the lens.
• Probe positioning and angulation are adjustable through sliding gestures, enabling realistic manipulation.
• The goal is to divide the lens into quadrants following established guidelines, including proper rotation, while avoiding damage to surrounding structures such as the posterior capsule or tear edges of the anterior capsule.

Rhexis Module

• Provides scoring based on the accuracy of achieving target parameters
• Includes timing metrics for procedural speed assessment
• Allows customization of pupil size and lens density to increase simulation difficulty
• Offers adjustments for lens sphericity, impacting tear control
• Permits tear directionality (clockwise or counterclockwise)
• Enables saving and sharing images of completed rhexis by email

Phaco Module

• Uses finger controls to emulate probe manipulation for lens division into quadrants

• Supports capturing images of the final phaco result for sharing purposes
